Introducing your executives through a corporate video

Introduce your managers via a corporate video, it's a way to reach a maximum of people, even from a distance. We tell you more here.

Whether you are a start-up or a large group, hosting in Paris, Toronto, Tokyo or London, times change and so do practices. Nowadays, with the multitude of small companies in France or in the UK, the horizontal relationship is becoming more and more important, both between the management and the teams, but also towards the public. It is always interesting for a company to showcase its leaders: even more so if they have just arrived. And what better way to introduce them than with a corporate video? With animation, your logo, an introduction, an outro and nice templates? And don’t forget the music, and why not some songs from your awesome playlist! Here are some tips to guide you for these video testimonials. And remember: you don’t have to be an expert or a video Bachelor to make your own content 😉

Why present your leaders in a corporate video? Why is it an effective approach?

Video clip, a popular form of content to stand out from the crowd

The first question we should ask ourselves is: how did companies do it just a few years ago? Well, they did it through press releases, which were written in batches, sometimes accompanied by newsletters and blog posts. This type of content, more literary, certainly relevant if well treated, can now be accompanied by THE most consulted media today: video.

Some figures:

  • 82% of Internet traffic will be occupied by video in 2022, so it would be an error not to have a look at it,
  • 59% of executives prefer to watch a video rather than read a text,
  • 55% of people in your community consume videos more than other types of content.
  • 94% of people under 35 watch videos,
  • 54% of employees do not hesitate to share work-related videos with their colleagues every week.

As you can see, whether internally or externally, featuring your leaders in video will increase your visibility and allow you to create interaction with your content.

Addressing internal teams directly, include personalisation and emotion: trust technologies!

Staying with a press release or an email means remaining cold towards employees. Your teams want to know who is going to lead them, who is going to set the course for the next few years. The personality of the founders has a direct impact on the smooth running of operations. To do this, it is wise to pass on a message openly, to conduct an interview with the managers when they arrive. Depending on your codes and your communication, you can obviously adapt this interview.

For example: if you want to do something a little offbeat, you can do a Fast and Curious type interview, a very popular format launched by Konbini. You can take inspiration from this Fast and Curious interview with Sophie, Customer Success Manager at Pitchy :

In recruitment: successfully attracting new recruits

For recruitment sites such as Welcome To The Jungle, remember to keep your company page fresh and the presentation of your managers is a real plus for future candidates. If you encourage your managers to present the company and the concept, they introduce themselves to new recruits, breaking the ice and serving as ambassadors of your brand, as is the case here with one of our co-founders, Benjamin Chouraqui :

What are the top video formats to use to present your leaders?

The Fast and Curious interview

The concept: a slightly offbeat interview during which the interviewee is asked binary questions in the form of dilemmas. The objective: to answer as spontaneously as possible, and to break the ice, both by asking professional and personal questions.

Some ideas for questions for a Fast and Curious interview with your managers:

  • How did you come up with the concept? The tool?
  • If you had to describe the concept/tool/application in three words?
  • Is it possible to have doubts when you are an entrepreneur?
  • What obstacles did you face?
  • Any failure that taught you a lot?
  • What qualities do you look for in your future recruits?
  • What career opportunities are available to candidates?
  • Any advice for candidates?
  • What has management taught you?
  • Being in the field or in the office?
  • Work or politics?
  • Pride or pride?
  • Formal or informal?
  • Vertical or horizontal organisation?
  • Idealist or optimist?

The “3 questions to…” interview

The concept: ask three questions that will quickly allow the person to introduce him/herself and talk about his/her function and training. The objective: to ask them more about the projects in progress in their team.

The “One minute with…” interview

In this type of interview, the audience is immersed in the life of one of your employees. The advantage of this type of interview is that it does not require a lot of logistics, especially in terms of equipment: indeed, to make it more realistic, why not film with your smartphone?

The objective: to gather as much information as possible about :

  • the missions of the interviewee,
  • the team in which they work,
  • and why not the story of their recruitment!

Here, you can of course adapt, because it is your managers, but the meeting with the company is always interesting. And showing the daily life of the hierarchy helps to humanise it.

A simple corporate video, to make it very corporate and easily identifiable for viewers

As a general rule, the interview you are going to do with your managers can be integrated into a more classic intro video. This will introduce the context and the tone used, and say why your content is relevant. The intro video is also your graphics and visual identity, as here, in this template made with the Pitchy solution :
